Tax Dollars on PS3 Mods?

Ok you hear about all the mods done by all the citizens but now the goverment appears to be modding consoles as well? It appears the Dept. Of Defence has ordered 2,200 Ps3 consoles for the microproccessors included to add to their "Super Computer", Yeah sounds pretty sci-fi right? well its the truth! Keep working so you can give uncle sam that PS3 your not getting for Christmas, after all its a time for giving right?

According to an official Justification Review Document, the U.S. Department of Defense has ordered 2200 PlayStation 3 consoles in an effort to expand their supercomputer.

The current supercomputer has 336 PS3s arrayed in a cluster, all running a Linux operating system. The consoles have Cell microprocessors, and offer the best value for devices that can be used in the supercomputer. The systems purchased are 160GB "fat" PS3s because they can run alternate operating systems, unlike the slim PS3s which cannot.

Mario Wallet Worth more than it can hold?

So I assume some people just don't realize that sentimental value is the complete opposite of actual value. This person is selling a Mario Bros 2 Wallet for $20,000 This is no joke! It has been verified he really wants that much! Apparently his dead mother gave it to him and in return it feels its worth thousands more than any right minded human would pay him but he may have known this and threw in the fact he wants to start a christian rock band in hope for a charitable donation but regardless he would be more productive to twist that wallet and watch Mario pull the mushroom 20,000 times than ever expecting someone to shell out that much without 19,999 included in it.

10 Strangest Console Mods Ever

I figured this page would be a nice adition to my blog as it features the 10 strangest console mods.. and well thats kind of what i based the page off of. I really dont see as to these peoples input labeling them "strange" persay but I would look at it as more unique.
From the killer looking dreamcast to the clever PS2 portable, there are plenty of inspiring designs that go from plain stupid like the NES idea to a more bright colorful colecovision, If you are any fan of the classic systems this is certainly something that will cycle you through every emotion.

It's hard to picture our lives flashing before our eyes as we sit in front of a computer or TV playing our favorite games but 4 individuals this became their fate. After reading this I guess I wasn't as surprised as I thought i would be as i have seen what games like WOW and FF XI have done to close friends of mine, destroying their entire social life and health, it's sad but will inevitably happen.

Of course 3 of the deaths were at the hands of player themselves neglecting their own health or compromising themselves It's still an interesting article that may change the way you think of the games. It reminds me years ago when hundreds of people committed suicide when losing all grasp on reality when lost in the world of D&D but without further ado check out the article @

Most Expensive Video Game?

Well Iv'e heard of Video games going in the thousands before but 20K? A Bit spendy if you ask most. So it appears that the 91 campus challenge cart appeared on Ebay as of recent. For those of you who don't know what the campus challenge was, in 1991 Nintendo drove a van around to 58 university campus's and held tournaments. Similar to the 1990 World champioships it consisted of 3 games: Super Mario Bros 3, Pin-Bot, and Dr. Mario.

The sad part is that they arent even the full games, but needless it appears the amount in existence has yet to be determined, Wikipedia has a page on it for more info.

The question has came to mind as of recent when these holy grails of gaming started appearing on the Net, who is to say these carts are authentic? The guy at retrozone is doing a damn good job at reproduction, Im certainly sure it could be easily cloned with no detection as so very few exist.. well $20 im not willing to chance anyways.

It seems flash carts really started to show up around the time of GBA & NGPC and now the market is littered with DS ones but now you can own one for your NES! It may be a little late for such a cart especially with it's $135 price tag but never the less It's an awsome piece to own in any NES collection.

The cart Takes CF cards, though outdated very cheap and easily obtained on the internet. The case itself as well is cool looking with superb design. RetroZone are the ones responsible and have an awsome catolouge of NES Hacking tools, custom games, blank donor boards and of course 4 awsome empty colored carts to replace the ones you already own.

Smallest NES System Ever!!!

My First glance at this was "Yeah Right!" But after a closer look this is for real!! Technabob has taken the guts of an NES (Most likely The Yobo Clone) and crammed it into a SMB cart. This Mod is so cool I started looking at finding a yobo and thinking about what cart I would use, Maybe The Gold Zelda cart, or Fire & Ice would look awsome!
